I kinda don’t like the idea of him getting powers. It feels like a Deus ex Machina. A harder but more satisfying story would have been him finding a way to control all of them without powers, the ultimate middle finger to the super people who think they are in charge.
That would have also been an interesting direction to develop, and it’s a theme I might well visit in future stories! But in this particular case, him acquiring powers after getting the job was one of the core points the commissioner wanted to include in the story, so it was always going to be central. In any case, thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the reply. Wasn’t aware it was a commission, so yeah, of course you need to follow what the commissioner says.
I am enjoying the story regardless of my feelings on him getting powers. I guess I should enjoy the story for what it is as opposed to what I wanted it to be.
