Damn this one is dark and i know they are all dark but the war aspect combined with injection, loss of bodily function then rape felt too realistic for me.
Makes me think real world stuff like stuff that happens in Ukraine.
Maybe keep it more “cartoony” with mind control or subliminal break down.
Hard pass for me on this one.
Hi! That’s very valid. Ultimately the bar for when something stops being counterphobia and starts being far too dark is very subjective. I feel like I do a good job in my catalogue of maintaining variety. There are several works that are as dark as this one (THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME for example) and others that are more cartoonish. I did include a mention on Discord that this was a harsher story than usual, but I think next time I’ll try and communicate it in the body of the text itself here on the website, so people know what to expect and, if necessary, what to steer clear of. In any case, thanks for your comment!
